Create the Perfect Pout!

shape up your lips
Applying lipliner is not only a great way to define and accentuate the shape of your lips, but also to keep your lipstick from feathering.

1. Begin applyling lipliner at the center of your natural upper lip line to define the bow then work toward the outer corners to complete the line.
2. Start at one corner of your bottom lip then follow your natural lip line all the way to the other corner.

Tip: Choose a lipliner that matches your lipstick or a flesh tone shade for a soft, natural look.

Tip: To get plumper, pinker looking lips, do not touch up by drawing a hard lip line; smudge it so lips look fuller! For a more dramatic fullness, choose a lipstick shade with a hint of frost.

Tip: To avoid lipstick on your teeth, put your index finger in your mouth and then draw it out slowly with your mouth closed. What you see on your finger is what would have ended up on your teeth!

Choosing your Wedding Hairstyle

Sometimes,  there is a difference between hair styles that we like,  compared to hair styles that suit our features.

By talking to an experienced Hair and Makeup team,  your able to ensure that you are choosing the right hair style for you,  and once you have the right style,  you are sure to look a million dollars!

Round Faces – suit faces with a little height.  Hair style suggestions may be cascades of curls piled up high on the head which would have the effect of making your face look elongated.

Heart Shaped Faces – will look less angular with styles that create width at the chin.  Suggestions waves around the jawline.

Long Shaped Faces – adding width and volume to the sides of the face.  Suggestions bring whisps of hair to suit just in front of your ears.

The talented Hair stylists at Michelle West Airbrush Makeup and Hair can adapt most wedding hair styles to suit the shape of your face.

How to shape your eyebrows like a pro

Arches done right by your Makeup Artist,  can make eyes seem bigger and brighter,  visually lifting sagging lids,  revving up hair colour and giving you an overall gorgeous look.

Your Professional Makeup Artist realises how important eyebrows are to shape and define your face.  Get beautiful arches that are perfect for you with these simple steps.

What you need

  1. Slant tip tweezers
  2. Makeup Artist Spiral Brow Brush
  3. A stencil with Brow Powder
  4. Brow Brush (Makeup Artist Angle Brush)
  • Look into a regular mirror, brush brows up and out with spiral brush
  • Align stencil over brow.  Use brow brush to fill in brow with brow powder (matte eyeshadow colour that suits your eyebrow colour)
  • Once your done,  remove stencil and tweezer stray hairs beneath powder for a clean shaped line.

Although you can clean up stray hairs below the eyebrow, don’t tweezer from the actual brow itself or you risk overwidening the space between the eyebrows.  Leave tweezing above the brow to a Professional Makeup Artist.  It’s a tricky area and can lead to flattening the arch if not done perfectly.

Makeup Artist Tip – Waxy lip balm,  or clear mascara is a great way to keep brow hairs neat and in place.
